Understanding IP Rated Lights

RBW

Rich Brilliant Willing is proud to offer IP rated light fixtures for interior and exterior applications.

IP ratings are given to fixtures after rigorous laboratory testing. It verifies how protected a fixture is within damp or wet settings while determining if water can get inside a fixture which could cause potential damage. It also determines the permeability of dust. Fixtures are rated on how impervious their surfaces are to solid and liquid, from fingers and small drops of water to fine dust and full submergence.

Zone 2 refers to fixtures that could withstand wet settings while Zone 1 is subjected to fixtures that can withstand damp settings (See Image above). For lighting next vanities, IP 44 and above is recommended and Branch, Crisp, Dimple and Chip are great products to address these needs.

IP ratings are available in a number of RBW fixtures. For further Light Reading on Understanding IP Certification. For inquiries and further information, feel free to reach out sales@richbrilliantwilling.com.
