To conclude our 10 year anniversary, we hosted a Dive Bar Crawl around the Lower East Side—the origin of RBW

We could not have reached our 10-year milestone if it was not for the support of our loyal and supportive design partners. As a thank you, we invited our top supporters on a dive bar crawl to revisit some of our former watering holes on a nostalgic walk down memory lane.

We started off at Loreley Beer Garden, a beer garden in the style of Kolsch halls in Cologne that were blocks away from our first studio in a basement in Lower East Side, NY. Ten years ago, the three founders—Theo Richardson, Charles Brill, and Alex Williams, would sit at this beer hall drinking Kolsch while sketching out product ideas on coasters. The “Rich Brilliant Willing” name was also born in the Lower East Side around cofounder Charles' kitchen table.

It was a fun night filled with beers, laughs, and nostalgia. Thank you all for 10 great years and cheers to what the future has in store for RBW for the next 10.

RBW Team Holiday Party 2025

The end of the year is a time to reflect on a year of growth, collaboration, and hard work. This year we met at Eng’s in Kingston. The rare opportunity to sit together and take stock. We looked around the table and saw the team behind the work. RBW exists because these people care deeply about what they make and who they make it with. We believe in the power of light to create atmosphere — and this is the team behind it — and this is the team that brings that vision to life.

Shop Talk with Neil Logan & Roseanna Smith Vol. 13

Neil Logan brought clarity to 85 Franklin: keep what works, highlight the charm, don’t mess it up. Our collaboration with him has grown from Industry City to Kingston, and this project felt like the natural next step. Alongside Neil, project manager Roseanna Smith helped shape the vision and strategy, guiding the space to tell RBW’s story of evolution and what comes next. We caught up with Neil to talk about the design approach behind 85 Franklin, the art of doing less, and how to show off lighting without trying too hard.
